I find myself moving the razor 20-30% faster than I do with its OC cousin. There is some very clear audible feedback but not as 'loud' as the OC base plate. Lathered up some Fitjar and started the morning shave. No blade loading issues and the blade aligned as straight as can be. Plopped a fresh Astra SP blade into the razor this morning - I like using the Astras as they seem really consistent to me and I know them well enough now to be able to tell how how a razor behaves without having to worry about how much comes from the blade. What comes next you read at your own risk ***

Presentation wise the base plate arrives in the usual, attractive black Timeless Razor box. With all that out of the way let's take a look at the new base plate.
